I found out that podiatry is not allowed to bill OHIP for any virtual consultations but medicine can . Why were we left out and is there any way to address this issue ?

We looked into the matter. It's not dead yet but so far podiatrists are unable to bill for telehealth or virtual care. I have CPMA corresponding with CHLIA for advice on private billing. I will get information to you asap.

Call me anytime at your leisure to discuss further.

IS there any information that anyone has about the wage subsidy , CERB, etc for us as self employed individuals. If we are seeing 1-2 emergency patients a week for infections , infected ingrown nails , infected wounds etc, and bill the patient for the visit ( ingrown nail procedure , etc ) , does that eliminate the possibility of applying for a personal program since we are billing an office visit fee for the procedure  ? If I am seeing 1-2 patients per week on an emergency basis and can remotely pick up phone messages , therefore lay off my secretary due to the CoVId19 situation, then can we still apply for the Wage subsidy ( 75% thing ) and use it to pay office bills like rent , phone , etc , if my secretary is off work and applying for CERB or EI ? None of it is clear to me on the government website . Are we

We have just been informed that Sun Life will cover virtual consultations.

I need to confirm their parameters.

I am trying to develop guidelines through CPMA (with help from OPMA) for telehealth. We have found out that the big 3 are covering telehealth. I'm trying to get CPMA to put out that info asap.

The subsidies seem to change parameters every day. I'm trying to get CPMA to put links and guidance on that as well.

Everyone has a different structure to their practice. I would rely on advice from your personal accountant above all else.
